The role of the Senior Domestic is to successfully oversee the entire housekeeping operation and team on a daily basis, looking after all areas of Jack Sears House in relation to cleanliness and to provide the highest level of care and service in line with the agreed service level and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, support and motivate the domestic team, ensuring consistently high cleaning standards.
- Plan and coordinate daily workloads, managing time effectively to meet the demands of a busy service.
- Carry out regular cleaning and quality audits, taking action to maintain excellent standards.
- Conduct staff supervisions, providing guidance, coaching and performance support.
- Ensure COSHH documentation and folders are maintained, accurate and up to date.
- Monitor stock levels and ensure cleaning equipment and products are used safely and appropriately.
- Promote compliance with infection prevention and control procedures, health and safety legislation, and organisational policies.
- Work closely and collaboratively with the care team and kitchen team to ensure residents receive the highest quality environment and service.
- Support the induction and ongoing development of new domestic staff.
About You

- Has previous experience in a senior domestic, housekeeping or supervisory role.
- Has excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Can confidently lead a team while remaining approachable and supportive.
- Is flexible, dynamic and able to respond positively to changing priorities.
- Has a good understanding of COSHH, infection prevention and health and safety requirements.
- Is committed to maintaining exceptional standards of cleanliness and resident wellbeing.
- Enjoys working as part of a multidisciplinary team and values collaboration.

Essential
● 2 years + experience in a Cleaning role
● Team management experience
● Excellent level of written documentation
Desirable
● Professional cleaning qualification
● Experience of managing a cleaning team within a healthcare setting
Shifts are 08.00 to 16.00 includes every other weekend.
