The Role
As a General Assistant (Temporary), you’ll support the smooth day-to-day running of the garden centre across a variety of departments, which may include plants, homeware, fashion, tills and general retail areas.
This is a varied, hands-on role where flexibility, teamwork, and a positive attitude are essential. You’ll help ensure our customers receive excellent service and enjoy a well-presented, well-stocked store.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver friendly, helpful, and professional customer service
- Support across different areas of the centre, including tills, plants, and retail departments
- Assist with stock replenishment and maintaining well-presented displays
- Help ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment
- Work as part of a team and also independently when required
- Support seasonal changes, promotions, and general retail activity
The Ideal Candidate:
- Friendly, enthusiastic, and customer-focused
- Flexible and willing to work across different departments
- Reliable, positive, and proactive
- Able to use initiative and work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and pride in good presentation standards
- Retail experience is helpful but not essential — full training provided
