We are currently recruiting enthusiastic and dedicated Learning Support Assistants to work within a specialist school providing education for learners aged 11–19 years. The school supports students with a range of additional needs, including Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).

The Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work alongside teachers and specialist staff to provide tailored support both inside and outside the classroom. You will help students access learning activities, encourage social and emotional development, and support them in achieving their individual education targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting students during lessons and structured learning activities.
- Assisting learners with communication, engagement, and interaction.
- Encouraging independence and promoting positive learning behaviours.
- Supporting students with personal development, social skills, and emotional wellbeing.
- Adapting support strategies to meet individual learning needs.
- Assisting with sensory activities and personalised learning programmes where appropriate.
- Working collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and other professionals.
- Supporting students to participate fully in school life and extracurricular activities.
Requirements
- Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs is desirable but not essential.
- A patient, caring, and resilient approach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs.
- Ability to build positive relationships and work effectively as part of a team.
- Willingness to undertake relevant training and development opportunities.

Pay: £100.00-£105.00 per day
Work Location: In person
