Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mobile HVAC Engineer to join our team. This role involves providing on-site maintenance, repair, and installation services for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems across various locations within a 30-mile radius of Leicester.
The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical knowledge, proven experience in AC installation and maintenance, and the ability to work independently across multiple sites. Candidates must hold a valid F-Gas certification (essential) and have a minimum of 3 years’ experience within the HVAC/air conditioning industry, with 5+ years’ experience preferred.
A company van will be provided for work purposes. Please note that the vehicle cannot be taken home and must be returned as per company policy.
The successful candidate will be proactive, adaptable, and committed to delivering high-quality service while ensuring systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably.
Pay is dependent on experience, qualifications, and skill level.
Responsibilities
- Carry out installation, servicing, maintenance, and repair of air conditioning and HVAC systems across sites within a 30-mile radius of Leicester.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on HVAC systems.
- Diagnose faults using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools, then complete necessary repairs or replacements.
- Install and commission air conditioning units, ventilation systems, and related HVAC equipment.
- Lead small teams during installation and repair projects, ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality standards are maintained.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manufacturer documentation to troubleshoot complex system issues.
- Coordinate with clients to schedule maintenance visits and provide technical advice on system performance and optimisation.
- Assist with HVAC installation projects, refurbishments, and building services works as required.
- Ensure all work complies with F-Gas regulations, health and safety requirements, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate records of service activities, repairs completed, parts used, and system performance.
Essential Experience & Qualifications
- Valid F-Gas certification (essential).
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working within HVAC/air conditioning installation, maintenance, or repair.
- 5+ years’ experience preferred.
- Strong practical knowledge of air conditioning systems, ventilation equipment, and HVAC technologies.
- Proven experience carrying out AC installations, servicing, fault finding, and repairs.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and installation manuals.
- Strong understanding of preventative maintenance and system optimisation.
- Ability to work independently across multiple sites with minimal supervision.
- Full UK driving licence required.
- Strong commitment to health and safety, quality workmanship, and customer service.
Desirable Experience
- Experience supervising or guiding junior engineers.
- Background in commercial HVAC, building services, construction, or refurbishment projects.
- Experience working with a range of HVAC manufacturers and systems.
