Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Window Fitter, either as an individual or part of a dynamic pair, to join our construction team. This role involves installing, replacing, and repairing windows across various residential and commercial projects. The ideal candidate will be energetic, detail-oriented, and ready to take on hands-on tasks that enhance building aesthetics and energy efficiency. Your expertise will directly contribute to delivering high-quality results that meet client expectations and safety standards.
Duties
- Measure window openings accurately using schematics and technical drawings to ensure precise fitting.
- Remove old windows carefully, minimizing damage to surrounding structures.
- Install new windows using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to ensure secure and weather-tight fittings.
- Apply construction painting, masonry, or carpentry skills as needed for framing or finishing touches around window installations.
- Use welding, plumbing, electrical experience, or roofing knowledge when required for integrated building systems or specialized installations.
- Conduct quality checks throughout the installation process to guarantee compliance with safety regulations and project specifications.
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools, disposing of debris properly, and ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times.
Experience
- Proven construction experience with a focus on window fitting or related trades such as carpentry, masonry, or roofing.
- Familiarity with schematics, technical drawings, and blueprints for accurate installation planning.
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication processes.
- Knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, plastering, and construction painting is a plus for integrated project work.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in various weather conditions and environments.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills to adapt to different project requirements.
