Overview
Make a Difference (UK) Ltd provide nationwide wellbeing services in the Education sector and we’re looking for a Lead Occupational Health Nurse to help lead our growing service and high-performing team to deliver a first-class, clinician-led Occupational Health (OH) service.
Reporting to the Head of Wellbeing, you will lead the delivery of an innovative OH service and oversee a team of internal and associate OH professionals. You will play a key role, influencing strategic decision-making and driving clinical governance to help us grow a high-quality provision that creates positive wellbeing outcomes for our community of Schools and Academies.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver core OH services — pre-employment screening, management referrals, and health surveillance. Managing complex case referrals and sickness absence cases, providing clinical decisions and advising on workplace wellbeing
- Provide day-to-day leadership, mentorship and support for OH clinical team; manage reviews, appraisals and clinical complaints/investigations
- Lead clinical governance processes, ensuring compliance with legislation and best practice
- Work closely with senior stakeholders to improve clinical outcomes and service delivery
- Provide expert clinical advice and produce high-quality reports.
- Oversee clinical service delivery to ensure adherence to individual and departmental KPIs and SLAs.
- Contribute to health promotion, policy development, and service improvement.
Experience:
- Must hold a valid NMC registration with an active PIN and a post-registration recognised qualification (eg specialist degree/diploma in Occupational Health)
- Proven track record in clinical leadership, people management and quality assurance auditing within an occupational health environment (or equivalent setting)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Occupational Health
- Proven experience managing an autonomous OH caseload, including complex case management
- Experience developing clinical governance frameworks and improving service delivery
- Strong understanding of OH legislation and best practice
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills
- Desirable: Experience in the Education sector or EAP / Wellbeing service environment.
- Desirable: Knowledge of SEQOHS and ISO compliance standards.
Pay: £55,000.00 per year
