Our Midlands depot in Aldridge is looking to expand our team with professional and dedicated Class 1 LGV Container Drivers. Duties & Responsibilities:
- Operate LGV vehicles to transport containers between locations in the United Kingdom including Inland terminals and Ports
- Ensure compliance with Tachograph & Working Time Directive regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain professionalism at all times.
- Develop close working relationships with the planning and training team, as well as other drivers and staff members.
- Be flexible with start and finish times, as shift lengths can vary.
- Have deep understanding of the importance of health and safety and be committed to always upholding a safe approach to all tasks.
Requirements:
- Full HGV Class 1 (C + E) licence (1 year preferred
- Valid Driver Qualification Card (DQC) and up-to-date Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).
- No more than 3 penalty points (no DD,DR,IN endorsement's )
- Ability to provide a clean basic Criminal Record Check prior to the start date (obtained within 10 weeks).
- Provide a full 4-year checkable history (no gaps longer than 28 days).
- Good knowledge of written and spoken English.
- Positive and can-do attitude.
- Flexibility and reliability.
- Great communication skills.
- Knowledge of container haulage preferred but not always essential
- New passes will be considered (but will need to undertake training)
- Port Cards would be an advantage
