We are seeking a friendly, competent person to complete our kitchen team.
We are looking for someone to work Tuesday, Thursday & Friday 9.30am-2.30pm and 10am-5pm on a Wednesday. We are open all year round.

You will be required to hold a Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate. If you do not already have this we can arrange training.

PRIMARY PURPOSE:
- To help prepare the meals for up to 70 children aged from 6 months to 5 years, following the nursery menu.
- To be aware of alterations needed to meals for children with specific dietary requirements.
- To follow all hygiene procedures in maintaining a safe working environment.
- To undertake basic laundry duties.
- To undertake daily cleaning and follow a cleaning schedule
Main Duties
1. To know and work within all the nursery’s policies and procedures, reading them regularly and when requested and offering suggestions for updates and improvements as appropriate;
2. Know and work within ‘Our Commitments’ as stated in your staff handbook in so far as they relate to the job role;
3. To follow the set menu and help prepare lunch and tea taking account of the numbers and ages of children in on that day;
4. To keep the work areas clean and tidy, following hygiene procedures as stated in our ‘Safer Food, Better Business’ pack;
5. To liaise with the childcare supervisors in ensuring that food is delivered promptly;
6. To help serve food if required, assisting the childcare workers in maintaining a calm mealtime;
7. To ensure that food prepared for children with specific dietary requirements, including allergies, is appropriate and safe.
8. To liaise closely with other kitchen workers in ensuring all tasks are completed including shopping lists, food rotation, laundry, kitchen cleaning etc.
9. To be a friendly and approachable adult for the children, interacting appropriately when required to.
