Contracted Hours: Mon- Thurs 8am- 3.30 Friday 8am-3pm (37 hours per week)
Hourly Rate: £10 per hour (dependant on age in line with Government rates)

The Role
As an Apprentice Multi-Skilled Maintenance Worker, you will support the Facilities team in maintaining buildings and properties across Aspens' services while gaining hands-on experience and training in general maintenance and facilities work. You’ll learn a variety of trades including plumbing, electrics, carpentry, painting and decorating under supervision, and work toward a recognised qualification.
This is a developmental role and ideal for someone starting a career in building maintenance. You’ll work alongside skilled professionals, receive on-the-job training and be supported to develop your skills and knowledge in a real-world setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Under supervision and with guidance, the apprentice will:
· Assist with day-to-day maintenance tasks across various Aspens properties.
· Learn to carry out basic repairs (plumbing, electrical, carpentry and decorating).
· Help conduct regular maintenance checks and keep accurate records.
· Support with refurbishments and project-based improvements.
· Maintain tools and equipment in good, safe condition.
· Learn how to report maintenance concerns or hazards to the Facilities Manager.
· Shadow and support experienced maintenance staff and external contractors.
· Understand and follow health and safety policies, including the safe use of PPE.
· Support in ensuring security of buildings when required.
· Complete training and coursework as part of the apprenticeship programme.
About You
Essential:
· Availability Mon- Thurs 8am-3.30 Friday 8am-3pm
· Willingness to complete relevant apprenticeship qualification as part of this role
· A genuine interest in maintenance, DIY or construction
· Willingness to learn and follow instructions
· Good communication and teamwork skills
· Reliable
Desirable:
· Some practical experience through school, volunteering or hobbies
· Basic understanding of tools and maintenance work
· GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English
