Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Labourer / Deck Fitter to join our deck installation teams.
We are looking for motivated people willing to learn. You must be willing to work outdoors and travel with the team throughout the region (Durham, Northumberland, Cumbria and Southern Scotland and Northern Yorkshire) and be willing to stay overnight, as required (accommodation provided).
The job involves working in teams of 2 to 4 people , installing decks on caravan parks, commercial properties and domestic properties. The majority of jobs take 1 or 2 days, on average, to complete. Teams cover the North East, Northern England, Southern Scotland and some parks in North Yorkshire. The amount of travel varies, however, has averaged about 1-2 days per week for some teams. Travel provided via company vans and accommodation arranged and paid for by the company with paid overnight allowance.
This is an entry-level position where we will teach you the decking installation trade. Many of our current Team Leads have started in this position and moved through the ranks. Our hourly rates are more than competitive and are reviewed at least annually and our pay structure allows teams to earn more by attaining a good pace, whilst maintaining quality and by opting to take on extra jobs.
Candidates should be physically fit, safety-conscious, and eager to learn new techniques.
Responsibilities
- Assisting with the installation and fitting of decks, including preparation of work sites
- Using hand tools and power tools to cut, shape, and assemble materials
- Ensuring all work areas are kept clean and safe in compliance with health and safety regulations
Experience
- Previous experience in construction or related trades is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, schematics, and construction techniques is desirable
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks
- A proactive attitude with a focus on safety standards and quality workmanship

Pay: £12.75-£13.80 per hour
