Overview
We are seeking an experienced Mithai Chef / Head Chef specialised in Desi Sweets and Bakery to lead our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong supervisory skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a passion for authentic Indian desserts and baked goods. Duties
- Lead the preparation and presentation of a wide variety of Desi sweets and bakery items, ensuring authenticity and quality.
- Supervise daily kitchen operations, including food production, cooking, and plating.
- Manage and train kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative team environment with effective leadership.
- Oversee food safety procedures in compliance with hygiene regulations and company policies.
- Develop new recipes and menu items to keep offerings innovative and appealing.
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock to minimise waste while maintaining freshness.
- Ensure all food preparation meets high standards of taste, appearance, and consistency.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen area at all times.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Uphold hospitality standards by providing excellent customer service when required.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food production specialising in Indian sweets or bakery products.
- Supervising experience within a busy kitchen environment is highly desirable.
- Strong skills in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen management.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience managing a team of chefs or kitchen staff.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene management.
- Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is preferred.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently under pressure.
- Passion for culinary arts with a focus on authentic Desi cuisine.
