About Platinum Skies
Platinum Skies is a purpose-built retirement living community in central Salisbury, home to 200 individual homes, part of the AHC Group. Our homeowners live independently in their own properties within the community, and many benefit from a little extra help with personal care to stay living well at home rather than moving into a residential care home, which can be a more expensive and disruptive option.

The Role
We're looking for experienced, reliable self-employed carers to provide personal care support to homeowners at our central Salisbury community. This is not agency work. You'll be introduced directly to homeowners and their families, and you'll agree your own hours, rate and terms with each client.
A real advantage of this role: clustered clients. Because all our homeowners live within the same purpose-built community, you can build a caseload of several clients within a few minutes' walk of one another. No driving across Salisbury between visits, no wasted time or fuel between appointments — just more hours actually spent caring, and more of your day earning rather than travelling.
Typical support includes:
- Personal care (washing, dressing, mobility support)
- Medication reminders
- Light domestic help and meal preparation
- Companionship and wellbeing checks
- Supporting continued independence at home
Hours and visit frequency vary by client, from a short daily visit to more extensive ongoing support. Many of our homeowners are looking for carers who can build a long-term, familiar relationship rather than a rotating rota of different faces.
What We're Looking For
- Experience providing personal care, either self-employed or previously through an agency or care setting
- Full public liability insurance (or willingness to arrange this)
- Enhanced DBS check, or willingness to obtain one
- Reliable, warm, and comfortable working independently
- Based in or able to travel easily to Salisbury and the surrounding area
- Right to work in the UK
Relevant qualifications (e.g. NVQ/QCF in Health and Social Care) are welcome but not essential if you have solid practical experience.
