About the Role
We are looking for a Support Worker / Driver to join our team in Tamworth, supporting three young men with additional needs who live together within a supported living environment.
This is a rewarding role where you will provide person-centred support, helping the young people to live as independently as possible, develop their skills and enjoy a full and active lifestyle.
As part of the role, you will also be required to drive company vehicles, supporting the young people to attend appointments, activities, social events and community activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing high-quality, person-centred support to three young men with additional needs.
- Supporting individuals with their daily routines and personal development.
- Encouraging independence and community involvement.
- Supporting with activities, appointments, shopping and social outings.
- Driving the company vehicle safely and responsibly. Both manual and Automatic
- Supporting individuals to access community facilities and activities.
- Maintaining accurate daily records and care documentation.
- Following individual support plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures.
- Working positively as part of a supportive team.
- Promoting dignity, choice, independence and respect at all times.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Caring, patient and reliable.
- Confident supporting young people with additional needs.
- A good communicator with a positive and proactive attitude.
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Flexible and willing to work shifts, including weekends where required.
- Responsible and confident when driving and transporting the people we support.
- Committed to providing high-quality support.
Essential Requirements
You must:
- Hold a full UK driving licence.
- Be eligible to work in the UK.
- Be able to drive company vehicles as required.
- Be willing to undertake an enhanced DBS check.
- Be able to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.
Previous experience in health and social care or supporting people with additional needs is desirable, but full training will be provided to the right candidate.
