Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Laundry Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our laundry department. The successful candidate will ensure the efficient and high-quality processing of linen and laundry items, maintaining cleanliness standards and operational efficiency. Previous hotel experience is highly desirable, as it provides valuable insight into the specific requirements of hospitality laundry services. Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all activities within the laundry department, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
- Manage staff schedules, assign tasks, and monitor performance to maintain high standards of productivity and quality.
- Ensure all laundry items are processed in accordance with health and safety regulations, as well as organisational policies.
- Maintain inventory levels of detergents, chemicals, and other supplies, placing orders as necessary.
- Train new staff members on proper laundry techniques, safety procedures, and equipment operation.
- Monitor equipment maintenance schedules and liaise with technicians for repairs or servicing when required.
- Conduct customer stock takes and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Plan and manage driver schedules and delivery logistics.
- Helping out with deliveries when needed
Requirements
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within a laundry environment or hotel experience is highly advantageous.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills to lead a team effectively and liaise with other departments.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Flexibility to adapt to staff shortages
- A proactive attitude with a commitment to delivering high standards of cleanliness and service excellence.
- Driving license is essential
- Will need to have security clearance check
Pay: £17.00 per hour
