Job Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Junior Security and Fire Engineer to join our team. This is a small family run busines. In this role, you will assist in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of security and fire protection systems across various facilities. This position offers great opportunity to develop technical skills in security infrastructure, fire safety systems, and related disciplines while contributing to the safety and security of our operations. The ideal candidate is proactive, eager to learn, and possesses a foundational understanding of electrical systems, mechanical components, and networked security technologies.
Duties
- Assist with the installation and commissioning of CCTV surveillance systems, fire alarms, and access control devices.
- Support the maintenance and inspection of security hardware such as sensors, detectors, cameras, and alarm panels.
- Help interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and system design documents to ensure proper setup and troubleshooting.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely during system installation or repair tasks.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to troubleshoot issues related to computer networking, telecommunication lines, or electrical components within security systems.
- Conduct basic testing of Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) and other fire safety equipment to verify operational integrity.
- Maintain detailed records of system configurations, inspections, repairs, and incident reports for compliance purposes.
Experience
- Basic knowledge of computer networking concepts relevant to security systems such as IP cameras and network switches.
- Mechanical knowledge related to hardware installation and maintenance.
- Familiarity with computer hardware components used in security devices or control panels.
- Electrical experience including wiring practices, schematics reading, or circuit troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with CCTV systems or telecommunication infrastructure is a plus.
- Experience using hand tools and power tools safely in construction or maintenance environments.
- Understanding of system design principles for security or fire alarm systems is advantageous.
- Construction experience or familiarity with building layouts can be beneficial for system integration projects.

Vehicle is not needed at the moment as you will be working with other Senior Engineer. Starting at Harrow on the Hill.
Working hours Monday - Friday 08:00-17:00
Pay: £105.00-£170.00 per day
