Danco is one of the leading providers of Marquees, Pavilions and temporary structures for a wide variety of events. We specialize in outdoor, corporate and winter events within the UK.
We are seeking a skilled Yard / Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for efficient kit handling, warehouse management, and equipment operation within a fast-paced environment. The position involves operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment, ensuring safe and accurate loading, unloading, and movement of kit.
Duties
- Operate forklift trucks and other warehouse machinery safely and efficiently to load, unload, and transport kit
- Manage kit handling activities, including stacking, organising, and storing goods within the yard or warehouse
- Handle heavy lifting tasks safely, adhering to health and safety regulations
- Support stock organisation by maintaining a clean and orderly yard or warehouse environment
- Collaborate with team members to optimise workflow and minimise downtime
Requirements
- Proven experience (minimum 1 year) operating forklift trucks in a warehouse or yard setting
- Experience in materials handling, shipping & receiving procedures
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Basic maths skills for inventory counts and measurements
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely as part of daily duties
- Valid forklift licence or certification is essential
- Good communication skills (fluent in English) and a proactive attitude towards safety standards
This role is vital in ensuring the smooth operation of the events and the correct kit is delivered to site ensuring the site staff have everything they need to complete the job to tight deadlines, requiring a dedicated individual committed to safety, efficiency, and accuracy.
Hours
Summer Hours - Monday to Friday 07:00 - 16:45
Winter Hours - Monday to Thusday 08:00 - 16:45
Friday 08:00 - 15:45
