Role Purpose
To manage a caseload of litigation matters effectively and professionally, providing high-quality legal advice and representation to clients while ensuring compliance with the Firm’s procedures, regulatory requirements and professional standards.
The role requires the Solicitor to manage matters with appropriate supervision, maintain accurate and up-to-date case records, meet deadlines and provide a high standard of client service.
Key ResponsibilitiesCase Management
- Manage a caseload of litigation matters from instruction through to conclusion.
- Take instructions from clients and assess the legal and factual issues arising from each matter.
- Advise clients clearly and appropriately on the merits, risks and potential outcomes of their matters.
- Prepare case strategies and ensure matters progress efficiently.
- Conduct legal research where required for specific cases.
- Prepare pleadings, statements, applications, correspondence, schedules and other legal documents.
- Review and analyse evidence and identify relevant legal and factual issues.
- Ensure all case documents and correspondence are accurately maintained on the Firm’s case management system.
- Monitor limitation dates, court deadlines, hearings and other key dates.
- Ensure appropriate follow-up and progression of matters without unnecessary delay.
- Liaise with clients, opponents, counsel, experts, courts and other relevant parties.
Court and Tribunal Work
- Prepare matters for hearings, conferences, applications and trials.
- Attend court and tribunal hearings where required.
- Prepare hearing bundles, instructions to counsel and other necessary documentation.
- Ensure compliance with court orders, directions and procedural requirements.
- Keep clients appropriately informed of hearing outcomes and subsequent steps.
Client Care
- Maintain regular and professional communication with clients.
- Provide clear advice and manage client expectations appropriately.
- Respond to client enquiries within appropriate timescales.
- Ensure client concerns and complaints are escalated and dealt with in accordance with Firm procedures.
- Maintain appropriate confidentiality and protect client information at all times.
Compliance and Risk Management
- Comply with the Firm’s policies, procedures and professional obligations.
- Comply with applicable SRA Standards and Regulations and other relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure appropriate client identification, KYC, AML and due diligence requirements are completed where applicable.
- Identify and report potential conflicts of interest, risks and compliance concerns promptly.
- Maintain accurate and complete case records.
- Ensure all work is carried out to the required professional and quality standards.
Financial and Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate time recording and ensure all time is recorded on the Firm’s case management system in accordance with Firm procedures.
- Assist with costs management, billing and financial aspects of matters where required.
- Monitor the financial position of matters and raise potential costs issues with the appropriate supervisor.
- Ensure work is undertaken efficiently and in accordance with agreed client arrangements.
- Maintain an organised and effective caseload.
Teamwork and Development
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and support staff across the Litigation Department.
- Follow reasonable instructions and guidance from the Head of Department or designated supervisor.
- Assist junior members of the team where appropriate.
- Attend team meetings, training and professional development sessions as required.
- Keep legal knowledge and professional skills up to date.
- Contribute positively to the development and efficiency of the department.

Pay: £40,000.00-£55,000.00 per year

Work Location: In person
