Position Summary
The Events Manager will lead the strategic planning, commercial development, and successful delivery of the company's portfolio of cybersecurity, technology, AI, and digital transformation events, including conferences, executive roundtables, webinars, networking events, industry forums, and exhibitions across the UK and internationally.
The role is responsible for overseeing the entire events function, ensuring high-quality event execution, exceptional client experiences, strong commercial performance, and continued market growth. In addition to managing the international event portfolio, the Events Manager will drive the development and delivery of local business engagement events, strengthening relationships with clients, sponsors, partners, industry leaders, and key stakeholders.
Working closely with the CEO, the Events Manager will play a critical role in expanding the company's market presence, increasing revenue opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, enhancing brand visibility, and positioning the organisation as a leading events provider within the cybersecurity, technology, and digital transformation sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Event Strategy & Leadership
Develop and implement the overall events strategy aligned with company growth objectives.
Lead the planning, development, and execution of cybersecurity, technology, AI, and digital transformation events.
Identify and evaluate new event opportunities, markets, sectors, and geographic regions to support business growth.
Create and manage annual event calendars, budgets, and commercial plans.
Ensure all events deliver exceptional attendee experiences while achieving financial and strategic objectives.
Drive innovation and continuous improvement across the event portfolio.
Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging technologies to maintain market leadership.
Event Planning & Management
Oversee the end-to-end planning and delivery of conferences, executive forums, exhibitions, webinars, roundtables, and networking events.
Manage event timelines, project plans, resource allocation, and operational delivery.
Approve and oversee venue selection, supplier management, travel arrangements, accommodation, catering, production, and event logistics.
Ensure all event activities are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest professional standards.
Manage risk assessments, compliance requirements, health and safety procedures, and contingency planning.
Oversee the production of event programmes, speaker agendas, delegate communications, sponsorship packages, and marketing collateral.
Ensure effective use of event technology platforms and registration systems.
Event Delivery
Lead the successful onsite delivery of events throughout the UK and internationally.
Provide leadership and direction to event teams, suppliers, contractors, and operational partners.
Ensure seamless event execution and exceptional stakeholder experiences.
Oversee speaker management, sponsor fulfilment, exhibitor engagement, delegate services, and attendee experience.
Resolve operational challenges and make strategic decisions during live events.
Conduct post-event reviews, performance analysis, and lessons learned assessments.
Drive continuous improvement based on attendee, sponsor, and stakeholder feedback.
Commercial Development & Revenue Growth
Work with CEO to develop and implement commercial strategies to maximise event profitability and growth.
Work closely with sales and marketing teams to increase sponsorship, exhibition, delegate, and partnership revenue.
Identify new sponsorship opportunities and strategic commercial partnerships.
Support client acquisition, retention, and account growth initiatives.
Monitor event performance against revenue, profitability, and growth targets.
Create compelling commercial propositions that deliver value for sponsors and partners.
Contribute to wider business development activities and strategic growth initiatives.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
Build and maintain senior-level relationships with clients, sponsors, exhibitors, speakers, partners, and industry leaders.
Act as a key ambassador for the business across the technology and cybersecurity sectors.
Lead stakeholder engagement activities before, during, and after events.
Ensure sponsors and clients receive outstanding service and measurable value from their investment.
Represent the company at industry meetings, conferences, networking events, and strategic discussions.
Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction, retention, and long-term partnership development.
Business Engagement & Networking
Represent the company at industry conferences, exhibitions, awards, networking events, and business forums.
Build strategic relationships with senior executives, government representatives, industry bodies, technology vendors, and key influencers.
Identify opportunities to expand industry networks and market reach.
Support the recruitment of high-profile speakers, sponsors, advisory board members, and strategic partners.
Drive local business engagement initiatives that strengthen the company's reputation and visibility.
Promote the company as a market-leading platform for knowledge sharing, collaboration, and industry engagement.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- Significant experience in event management, event leadership, or senior event roles.
- Proven experience delivering large-scale B2B conferences, exhibitions, executive events, and networking programmes.
- Demonstrated success managing event portfolios, budgets, and commercial performance.
- Experience developing client, sponsor, and partner relationships.
- Excellent project management and organisational skills.
- Strong commercial awareness and business development capability.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
- Willingness to travel regularly within the UK and internationally.
Desirable
- Experience working within cybersecurity, technology, AI, digital transformation, or related sectors.
- Understanding of sponsorship sales, delegate acquisition, and event commercialisation.
- Experience with CRM platforms, event management systems, and event technology solutions.

Travel Requirements
This role requires regular travel throughout the UK and internationally. Occasional evening, overnight, and weekend work will be required to support event delivery, client meetings, industry conferences, networking activities, business development initiatives, and strategic stakeholder engagement
Pay: £35,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
