About This Opportunity
Looking to build your career in renewable energy? We're seeking an experienced and motivated Electrical Solar PV Installer to join a growing renewable energy team in Sunderland. You'll be installing, commissioning and maintaining Solar PV systems across domestic, commercial and industrial properties, with genuine opportunities for career progression in a fast-expanding sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Install Solar PV systems in accordance with design specifications and current regulations
- Carry out DC and AC electrical installations
- Install inverters, battery storage systems and associated electrical equipment
- Complete system testing, commissioning and fault finding
- Ensure all electrical work complies with BS7671 Wiring Regulations
- Interpret technical drawings and electrical schematics
- Work closely with roofing teams and other site personnel
- Complete installation documentation and certification
- Carry out maintenance, servicing and repairs on existing Solar PV installations
- Maintain high standards of health and safety on site
- Deliver excellent customer service while working at client premises
About You
Essential:
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent
- City & Guilds 2365, 2330 or equivalent
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671)
- ECS Gold Card or JIB Card
- Experience installing Solar PV systems
- Knowledge of inverter technologies and battery storage systems
- Ability to read electrical drawings and technical documentation
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable:
- Level 3 Award in the Installation and Maintenance of Small Scale Solar Photovoltaic Systems
- Inspection & Testing qualification (2391 or equivalent)
- Working at Height certification
- Battery storage installation experience
- EV Charger installation experience
