We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Agency Support Worker's to support children and young people living in local authority children's homes in Carmarthen.
Your role would involve supporting the development, wellbeing, and daily needs of the children & young people in ensuring they receive consistent and personalised support.
We are seeking individuals who are willing and able to work within a service supporting young people with learning disabilities and complex behavioural needs. Experience in similar settings would be beneficial, although we would also welcome candidates who demonstrate the right values, resilience, and commitment to providing high quality care and support.
Hours: Ad-hoc agency working - Perfect to fit around any other commitments
Pay rate: £13.50 - £14.00
We would require the following criteria to be met:
- Trained in administering medication with a valid up to date certificate
- Team Teach trained
- Experienced in direct working with children/young people, working in potentially challenging/confrontational situations
- Managing difficult behaviour in line with agreed behaviour plans
- Hold a valid driving licence and business insurance
- Experience with Trauma informed practices
- Valid Social Care Wales Registration
- Valid DBS on the update service
Duties
- Provide personalised support to children, promoting their independence and confidence
- Assist with daily routines, meal times, and activities
- Follow care plans tailored to individual needs
- Maintain clear communication with colleagues/families as required
- Drive children to appointments or activities as required, ensuring safety at all times
- Monitor and record behavioural developments and any concerns in accordance with organisational procedures
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for all children under your support
Qualifications
- Previous experience working with children/young people in a support setting - essential
- Valid full driving licence - essential
- Business insurance - essential
- Team Teach trained - essential
- Good communication skills
- Compassionate attitude with excellent organisational skills
