Our creative team works closely with Production, Technical, Print, Scenic and Sales to turn client briefs into memorable, practical and commercially deliverable experiences.
The Role
We are looking for a creative and technically minded 3D Experiential Designer to develop engaging environments for live events, exhibitions, brand activations and temporary installations.
You will take projects from initial concept through to detailed design, producing high-quality visuals, spatial layouts and production-ready information. Your designs must be imaginative and visually strong, but also realistic to build, install and deliver within the available budget, venue and timescale.
This is a hands-on role for someone who understands how audiences move through and interact with physical spaces.
Key Responsibilities
Creative Design
- Develop creative concepts in response to client briefs.
- Design event environments, stages, exhibition stands, brand activations and experiential spaces.
- Produce mood boards, sketches, 3D models and photorealistic visuals.
- Create clear and compelling presentations for client pitches and project approvals.
- Apply client brand guidelines accurately across physical environments.
- Develop ideas that are engaging, memorable and appropriate for the audience.
Technical and Production Design
- Turn approved concepts into practical and buildable designs.
- Produce floor plans, elevations, dimensions and production drawings.
- Specify materials, finishes, furniture, graphics, lighting and scenic elements.
- Work closely with Production, Technical, Print and Scenic teams to confirm feasibility.
- Design with budget, sustainability, transport, installation and venue restrictions in mind.
- Update designs following client feedback, site visits and technical reviews.
Project Collaboration
- Attend client meetings, creative reviews and site visits.
- Present and explain design concepts clearly and confidently.
- Support Production Managers with design information throughout the project.
- Liaise with external fabricators, suppliers and specialist contractors where required.
- Review projects during fabrication and installation to maintain design quality.
- Help identify practical alternatives when budgets, timings or venue restrictions change.
About You
You will:
- Have professional experience in experiential, event, exhibition, retail, interior or spatial design.
- Be confident producing high-quality 3D visuals and presentation materials.
- Understand how creative concepts translate into real-world builds.
- Be able to balance strong creative ideas with budgets and practical constraints.
- Have excellent attention to detail and strong spatial awareness.
- Be comfortable managing several projects and deadlines at once.
- Communicate effectively with clients, production teams and suppliers.
- Be proactive, collaborative and solutions-focused.
- Be willing to visit venues and attend installations when required.
Skills and Experience
- Strong working knowledge of relevant 3D design and rendering software, such as SketchUp, Vectorworks, Cinema 4D, 3ds Max, Blender or similar.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
- Experience producing technical drawings, floor plans and elevations.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating experiential or spatial design work.
- Knowledge of materials, fabrication methods, print production and scenic construction.
- Able to demonstrate how AI tools can be used effectively to speed up creative workflows, improve visualisation and support project delivery.
- Experience designing for live events or temporary environments would be a strong advantage.
What Success Looks Like
- Concepts are creative, visually strong and relevant to the client brief.
- Designs can be built safely, efficiently and within budget.
- Production teams receive clear and accurate design information.
- Client feedback is incorporated quickly and thoughtfully.
