About the Role
As a Dance Teacher at LCM Dance Academy, you will inspire the next generation of dancers by delivering engaging, high-quality classes for children aged 2 years and above. You’ll help prepare students for Royal Academy of Dance examinations, performances, showcases and academy events, while playing an important role in maintaining the caring, family atmosphere that makes our academy so special.
Teaching opportunities are available Monday to Saturday, with hours offered based on your availability, experience and areas of expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured dance classes.
- Create a positive, inclusive and welcoming environment where every child feels encouraged to achieve their best.
- Prepare students for RAD examinations, performances and showcases.
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Build positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
- Follow all safeguarding, health and safety and academy policies.
- Represent LCM Dance Academy professionally at all times.
Person Specification
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has experience teaching dance to children and young people and has completed professional dance training through a recognised college, university or vocational school.
- Has experience teaching ballet syllabus work and is willing to learn and confidently deliver the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) syllabus from Pre-Primary to Intermediate Foundation, with full mentoring and support provided.
- Has experience teaching Acro to children aged 3–16 years, using safe and progressive teaching methods. Acrobatic Arts or Acrotrix qualifications are desirable.
- Is confident teaching Jazz. Experience in Lyrical and/or Musical Theatre is desirable.ISTD Ballet teaching qualifications, is currently working towards them, or is a recent dance graduate looking to build a rewarding career in dance teaching.
- Holds RAD or Shares our commitment to creating a warm, welcoming and family-focused environment where every student feels valued and supported.
- Has excellent classroom management, communication and organisational skills and enjoys working as part of a friendly, supportive team.
- Holds an Enhanced DBS certificate (or is willing to obtain one).
- Holds a full UK driving licence and is able to drive independently to all LCM Dance Academy teaching locations.
- Is enthusiastic about continuing their own professional development and helping our academy continue to grow.
Professional performance experience is highly desirable. Whether you have performed in theatre productions, commercial work, touring productions, cruise ships, pantomimes or other professional settings, we would love to hear about your experience. Please include any relevant performance experience within your CV.
