Production Machine Operator
Location: Aldridge, WS9
Job Type: Full-time
Working Pattern: Monday–Friday, shift-based
Shifts: Typically 6:00am–2:00pm or 2:00pm–10:00pm, with occasional changes and weekend working
We are looking for a Production Machine Operator to join our busy, fast-paced manufacturing team at our production facility in Aldridge, WS9.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a practical manufacturing environment and takes pride in producing high-quality self-adhesive labels.
The Role
As a Production Machine Operator, you will be responsible for:
- Setting and operating production machinery safely and efficiently
- Monitoring and controlling machinery and production processes
- Making adjustments to maintain product quality and output
- Producing high-quality self-adhesive labels to the required specification
- Carrying out quality checks during production
- Accurately completing production records and paperwork
- Following written work instructions, procedures and health & safety requirements
- Keeping the work area clean, organised and safe
- Working as part of a team to achieve daily production targets
Essential Requirements
Applicants must have GCSE English and Mathematics at Grade C or above (or an equivalent qualification).
This is an essential requirement for the role because accurate record keeping, measurements, calculations and understanding written technical instructions are an important part of the day-to-day job.
You must also:
- Be able to read, understand and speak fluent English
- Be able to understand technical terminology and written production instructions
- Have good basic mathematical skills
- Be accurate and confident when completing production documentation
- Be reliable, punctual and able to work effectively as part of a team
- Have a good eye for detail and take pride in producing quality work
- Be comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Be flexible regarding working hours and shift patterns
Previous experience in machine operation or a manufacturing environment would be an advantage, but full training will be provided for the right candidate.
A counterbalance forklift licence would be desirable but is not essential.
Working Hours
Our standard shift pattern operates between 6:00am and 10:00pm, Monday to Friday, for example:
6:00am–2:00pm
2:00pm–10:00pm
Working hours may occasionally vary depending on production requirements and can range between 5:00am and 12:00am. There may also be occasional weekend work.
Applicants must therefore be comfortable with shift work, changing start/finish times and occasional weekend working.
