Manafab is proud to be partnering with a well-established, highly respected engineering and manufacturing company based in Colwick, Nottingham.
Due to continued growth and a strong order book, we are looking for an experienced CNC Machinist to join their expanding team immediately.
The Role:
You'll be responsible for machining large, precision-engineered components using CNC boring and milling machinery. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy workshop producing high-quality work for a range of industries.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC machining equipment safely and efficiently.
- Operate Horizontal Boring Machines and Vertical Boring Mills (VBMs).
- Machine components to tight tolerances using engineering drawings.
- Work with Soraluce machinery (experience preferred).
- Experience with Alzmetall machinery is advantageous (or similar CNC milling machines).
- Carry out machine set-ups, tooling changes and programme adjustments where required.
- Inspect finished components using measuring equipment to ensure quality standards are met.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and report any faults or issues.
- Work closely with colleagues to maintain production schedules while ensuring the highest quality standards.
- Follow all workshop health and safety procedures.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a CNC Machinist preferred
- Semi-skilled candidates will be considered and training provided.
- Experience operating Horizontal Borers and/or Vertical Boring Mills (VBMs).
- Experience working with Soraluce machines is highly desirable.
- Experience with Alzmetall (or similar) CNC milling machines would be advantageous.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Strong understanding of tooling, machining processes and precision measurement.
- High attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Reliable, self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Salary & Hours:
- Up to £16.50 per hour (depending on experience).
- 39 hours per week
- Monday to Thursday: 08:00 – 16:30
- Friday: 08:00 – 15:30
- Paid directly by the employer (No agency payroll!)
- Overtime rates:
- Monday–Friday: up to £21.45 per hour
- Saturdays: up to £24.75 per hour
- Sundays: up to £33.00 per hour
