Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Football Coach to support our school's football programme. This role involves assisting the head coach in training sessions, developing players’ skills, and fostering a positive team environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sports coaching and teaching, with a commitment to student development and team success.
Duties
- Assist the head coach in planning and delivering training sessions tailored to different age groups and skill levels
- Support players in developing technical skills, tactical understanding, and physical fitness
- Help organise team practices, matches, and other football-related activities
- Provide encouragement and constructive feedback to players to promote confidence and improvement
- Ensure all training activities adhere to safety standards and promote fair play
- Support with administrative tasks such as maintaining attendance records and preparing equipment
- Foster a positive team environment that encourages teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship
Qualifications
- Proven experience in sports coaching, preferably within football or similar team sports
- Strong teaching skills with the ability to motivate and inspire young athletes
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff and students
- Knowledge of football techniques, rules, and safety protocols
- Ability to communicate effectively with players of varying ages and skill levels
- A recognised coaching qualification or willingness to obtain one is desirable but not essential
- Passion for youth development through sport and a commitment to fostering a supportive team atmosphere
Must be available on Thursdays 4:30-6pm
Job Types: Part-time, Zero hours contract
Pay: £15.00-£20.00 per hour
