Your next role
FireCheck Contracts is looking for a practical, reliable and hands-on Fitters Mate to support the installation of fixed gas suppression systems in critical environments such as data centres, telecoms facilities, server rooms and commercial buildings.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys physical, technical work and wants to build a long-term career in fire protection engineering. You'll work alongside experienced engineers, learn specialist skills, and be part of a close-knit team that takes real pride in doing things properly.
What you will be doing
You'll support engineers with the mechanical installation and commissioning of gas suppression systems. A typical week will include:

Preparing and installing pipework including measuring, cutting and fabricating components

Supporting cylinder and manifold installation across customer sites

Handling tools, materials and gas cylinders safely

Assisting with loading and unloading vehicles and keeping equipment organised

Completing worksheets, timesheets and mileage logs

Maintaining good housekeeping and safe working practices

You'll work closely with engineers, learn on the job, and gain experience across a variety of installation projects.
Who we are looking for
Were looking for someone practical, proactive and ready to learn. You don't need previous gas suppression experience - full training will be provided - but experience in engineering, construction, mechanical work or hands-on roles would be an advantage.
