Overview
We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods efficiently and safely to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries. Hours
- Approximately 8-10 hours per week. This will be variable hours contract distributed over Thursdays and Fridays with the shift starting at 1pm.
- Successful applicant will be required to cover holidays for other drivers when they have annual leave, this may include undertaking full day shifts.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate delivery vehicles in accordance with road safety regulations.
- Deliver prescriptions to patients in the local area in a timely and professional manner
- Maintain confidentiality and handle medication responsibly
- Use your own vehicle for deliveries (mileage reimbursed or fuel arrangement depending on branch policy)
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to optimise time and fuel consumption.
- Load and unload goods, ensuring items are secured properly during transit.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and obtain necessary signatures upon receipt.
Requirements
- Full UK driving licence
- Good knowledge of the local area
- Friendly, trustworthy, and punctual
- Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and customers.
- Ability to organise workload efficiently and adapt to changing schedules.
- Physical fitness to handle heavy lifting and long periods of driving or standing. This position is ideal for motivated individuals who take pride in their driving skills and delivering excellent customer service while maintaining safety standards at all times.
- A CRB/DBS check will be undertaken as part of the recruitment process
