Duties
- Operate heavy machinery such as excavators to assist with underground infrastructure projects and maintenance tasks
- Conduct routine inspections of underground equipment and systems to identify potential issues early
- Support the installation, repair, and maintenance of underground utilities and infrastructure components
- Assist with site preparation activities, including clearing debris and setting up work zones
- Follow safety protocols rigorously, ensuring a secure working environment for yourself and colleagues
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, equipment used, and safety checks completed
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate tasks efficiently and meet project deadlines
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and operate various machinery effectively
- Experience operating excavators or similar heavy equipment in an underground setting
- Valid commercial driving license to transport equipment or materials as needed
- Ability to follow detailed safety procedures and work conscientiously in confined or challenging environments
- Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and reporting issues promptly
- Physical stamina to perform manual tasks and work in demanding conditions for extended periods
