Axcis Education is working in partnership with a welcoming primary school in BS5, Bristol, to recruit a full-time SEND Teaching Assistant for the full academic year starting in September 2026.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and wants to use their SEND experience to support pupils across the school. The role will involve working with children with a range of needs, providing support through 1:1 interventions, small group activities and general classroom assistance.
About the Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide support for pupils with a variety of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
- Work on a 1:1 basis, supporting individual pupils with their learning, communication and emotional development
- Deliver small group interventions to help children develop key skills and confidence
- Support within the classroom, working alongside teachers to ensure pupils can fully access learning
- Adapt your approach to meet the needs of different pupils, including those with Autism, ADHD, speech and language needs and learning difficulties
- Help create an inclusive, supportive and engaging environment where all children can thrive
Requirements
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with children with SEND in a primary school setting (desirable but not essential)
- Is flexible, adaptable and confident supporting pupils with a range of needs
- Is patient, compassionate and able to build positive relationships with children
- Can work effectively both independently and as part of a wider school team
- Is passionate about inclusive education and helping every child reach their potential
