We are looking for a kind, dependable and friendly Companionship Care Assistant who genuinely enjoys spending time with people and helping them remain socially connected, confident and independent.
About the role
This is a companionship-only position. You will not be expected to provide personal care or administer medication.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Providing friendly conversation, emotional support and reassurance
- Spending meaningful time with clients in their homes
- Supporting clients with hobbies, interests and social activities
- Accompanying clients on walks, shopping trips, appointments or days out
- Encouraging independence, confidence and social engagement
- Helping clients maintain familiar routines
- Observing and reporting any concerns about a client’s wellbeing
- Completing clear and accurate visit records
- Respecting each client’s dignity, choices, privacy and confidentiality
About you
We are looking for someone who is:
- Naturally caring, patient and compassionate
- Friendly and confident when meeting new people
- Reliable, punctual and trustworthy
- A good listener with strong communication skills
- Respectful of professional boundaries and confidentiality
- Comfortable working independently in clients’ homes
- Willing and able to travel reliably between client locations
- Comfortable using a smartphone to record completed visits
Previous experience in companionship, care, customer service or supporting older people would be welcomed, but your values, reliability and attitude are equally important.
Travel requirements
A driving licence and access to a vehicle are not essential. However, you must be able and willing to travel reliably to clients across Greenwich, Lewisham, Bromley and Beckenham using public transport or another suitable form of transport.

Requirements
Successful applicants must:
- Have the legal right to work in the UK
- Provide satisfactory employment references
- Complete the appropriate DBS check for the role
- Be dependable and committed to attending agreed client visits
- Be willing to travel throughout the advertised service areas
