Responsibilities
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks, including washing, peeling, chopping, and organizing ingredients to support chefs during busy service times
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas by washing dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment efficiently
- Ensure all work surfaces, floors, and storage areas are sanitized regularly to uphold health and safety standards
- Support the organization of stock by rotating supplies and notifying management of inventory needs or shortages
- Help with waste disposal and recycling processes to keep the kitchen tidy and environmentally friendly
- Follow health and safety procedures diligently to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with food hygiene regulations
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during service hours
Experience
- Previous experience working in a restaurant or hospitality environment is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for motivated candidates
- Familiarity with food preparation techniques such as washing, peeling, or basic cooking is advantageous
- Experience working in a busy kitchen or hotel setting can be beneficial in understanding fast-paced workflows
- Knowledge of proper hygiene practices and safety standards within a culinary or hospitality context is desirable
