Duties
- Prepare and cook dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Manage a designated section of the kitchen, ensuring smooth operation during service
- Assist in the organisation and maintenance of kitchen stations, including mise en place
- Ensure all food safety and hygiene regulations are strictly adhered to at all times
- Monitor stock levels and communicate shortages or needs to the head chef or sous chef
- Collaborate with team members to deliver exceptional dining experiences
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of work areas, including equipment and utensils
- Support junior kitchen staff with training and guidance as required
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a busy restaurant environment
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and meal preparation methods
- Familiarity with food safety standards and hygiene practices in professional kitchens
- Previous experience working as part of a team in a fast-paced setting
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
