THE ROLE
This role is essential to the smooth running of the stores area. You will be responsible for receiving, storing, picking, and dispatching goods accurately and efficiently, ensuring stock integrity and a safe working environment. You will also support the trade counter and liaise with suppliers and customers to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Accept deliveries, check items for damage, quantity, and accuracy against paperwork.
- Book in deliveries and report any discrepancies.
- Load and unload delivery vehicles.
- Deal with delivery problems and communicate these to colleagues in a timely manner to ensure customer expectations can be managed.
- Put stock away in correct locations, ensuring labels are visible and boxes accessible.
- Pick and pack customer orders accurately for delivery or collection.
- Load delivery vehicles and arrange courier deliveries and inter-branch transfers.
- Release orders and communicate with customers regarding delivery status.
ORGANISATION & SAFETY
- Keep the stores, trade counter, and external areas clean, tidy, and safe.
- Ensure emergency exits and fire routes are unobstructed.
- Comply with health and safety policies, especially regarding lifting and PPE.
COMMUNICATION & SUPPORT
- Respond to staff and vendor queries regarding deliveries and stock.
- Report issues to line manager and assist colleagues with tasks as required.
- Provide a warm welcome to visitors and direct them appropriately.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Physical strength and stamina to lift and carry heavy items.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in stock handling.
DESIRABLE SKILLS
- Previous warehouse experience.
- Forklift licence (or willingness to undertake training).

- Monday to Thursday - 7:30am - 4:45pm.
- Friday - 7:30am - 4:00pm.
Pay: £30,000.00 per year
