Peaceful Place is a specialist dementia charity supporting people living with dementia to remain active, independent and connected to their community. We focus on abilities, not limitations, helping every person attending our day centre continue to live a meaningful and fulling life. At Peaceful Place, we believe everyone living with dementia or Parkinson's has the right to live their best life.
We are looking for volunteer drivers to help us with the following duties:
- Collect our members from their home addresses in the morning and drive them to our day centre
- Drive our members home at approximately 3-3.15pm
- Carry out a vehicle check before commencing journey.
- Report any defects
Skills required:
- Have held a full, clean driving licence for at least two years
- A kind and patient nature
- Good communications skills
- Experience of working with people who may be frail, mobility, sensory impaired or living with memory loss would be beneficial but is not required
- Knowledge of the local area, first aid and manual handling would be beneficial but is not essential as training will be provided.
We have morning and afternoon shifts available and we would welcome help even if you can only offer one morning or evening shift per week.
