We are looking for an ambitious and dedicated Wedding and Events Executive to join our team at Killeavy Castle Estate .
Located in the heart of Slieve Gullion, County Armagh, Killeavy Castle Estate is a 365 acre, four star estate, boasting a 45 bedroom hotel, thermal spa facilities, seven spa treatment rooms, the award-winning Gullion Brasserie and vibrant Calliagh Berra Bistro and Bar, as well as a Farm Store which sells estate-reared and grown produce.

The Estate boasts five unique event spaces, including The Castle, The Pavilion, The Garden Lounge, The Walled Garden Studio and The Corn Store. The Castle and Pavilion is the estates primary wedding space, responsible for hosting over 100 weddings per year.
The Person:
The Wedding and Events Executive is responsible for all incoming weddings, events, and corporate enquiries (email and telephone); from initial contact through to conversion and finishing with a seamless transition to the operations team for event execution during weekly operations meetings.
They will be dynamic and have good attention to detail coupled with strong selling, negotiation and organisational skills. Good communication skills are required to coordinate with relevant hotel departments as well as the client to ensure a seamless and consistently high level of service.
They will recognise opportunities to maximise revenue through upselling, conversion driving, and generating repeat business.
The Role:
- Ownership for overseeing and conversion of all weddings, events, and corporate enquiries
- Coordination of all guest requirements, including communication and completing verbally and in writing with the guest the details of an event up to handover to operations on the day of event execution
- Expertise/understanding of hotel operations e.g. menu planning, food presentation, event/meeting room set ups, audio-visual and banquet service standards
- Cooperation with Conference and Banqueting, Operations and Kitchen teams to ensure each event is catered for accordingly and that planning through to execution of the event is efficient, seamless and to an exceptionally high standard
- Correct use of systems and processes to ensure booking integrity, consistency & accuracy
- Sells to a pre-determined weddings and events strategy, supporting the team in achieving KPI’s for events department
- Works within brand guidelines of Killeavy Castle Estate at all times
- Commercially focused - generating incremental revenue and delivering excellent guest service
- Financial oversight for events department including completing all financial dealings and securing revenue collection for services rendered
- Effectively managing accommodation blocks and meeting space inventory for assigned groups
- Conducting compelling show rounds to win the business, building rapport and connection with potential clients and always representing Killeavy Castle Estate in a professional and engaging manner.
- Proactively resoliciting previous clients and event bookers for future opportunities
- Performance reporting including delivering regular reports on your performance, sales and revenue to your line manager
- Attending events both on site and off site to promote Killeavy Castle Estate and generate enquiries
Essential Criteria:
- Educated in hospitality/events management OR at least two years events experience within the hospitality industry
- Proven track record of selling weddings, meetings and conferences
- Experience working in a busy environment and as part of a team
- IT proficient
- Reporting and presentation skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Desirable:
- Previous experience in operational running of events within in the hospitality industry
Job Type: Full-time, permanent
Salary: £30k plus commission
