Rosebank Care Home is a small care home in Bampton providing residential care and support to up to 28 older people. We are a smaller care home with a high staff-to-resident ratio, which means we are well-equip to provide effective care.
We are currently seeking to recruit a full time Kitchen Assistant to work during the week and on alternate weekends (both Saturday & Sunday). Shifts will be 8am-4pm during the week and at weekends, working on a 2 week shift pattern.

Job Purpose
To assist the chef in the preparation of a balanced, nutritious diet within a controlled hygienic environment and support the cook in the effective operation of the kitchen.
The Kitchen Assistant will also need to control stock, rotate foods, and keep an eye on use by dates and ensure that the kitchen is left in a clean and hygienic state at the end of every shift.
Duties & Responsibilities
1) To prepare foods requested by the chef.
2) To clear tables after meals and to wash up all crockery using the dishwasher appropriately.
3) To return all crockery, glassware, cutlery and utensils to cupboards and drawers.
4) To prepare the trolley ready for lunchtime service.
5) To set tables for lunch ensuring tables, mats, cruets etc are all clean, and cruets topped up as necessary.
6) To keep the beverage area clean and tidy and ensure tea, coffee, sugar containers etc are topped up as necessary. Ensure beverage fridge is stocked with adequate milk and juices and that the biscuit box is topped up with an assortment of biscuits. To also check that cereal containers are kept clean and topped up.
7) To keep all kitchen cupboards, drawers, shelves, sinks and work surfaces clean daily using a rota in relation to the cupboards and drawers.
8) To periodically clean blinds and wall tiles and keep a record of this.
9) Ensure that any opened foods are clearly labelled with the opening date, stored correctly, and used before the use by or, best by date.
10) The menu for each day must be displayed on the boards provided for residents and staff reference.
11) Report straight away any faulty equipment in the kitchen to the Manager and ensure the equipment displays out of use if this is the case.
12) Kitchen hygiene to be always maintained.
