Breadalbane Primary School
We are seeking an enthusiastic, nurturing and innovative Play Assistant to join our large, supportive and friendly team at Breadalbane Primary School on a fixed-term basis.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Primary team to support the delivery of high-quality learning through play. This will involve helping to plan, set up and facilitate engaging play-based experiences that promote children’s curiosity, creativity and independence, while supporting their social, emotional and cognitive development.

You will play an important role in creating a positive, inclusive and stimulating environment where all children feel safe, valued and encouraged to achieve their best. Strong teamwork and communication skills are essential, as you will liaise regularly with teaching staff and contribute to the wider life and ethos of the school.
In addition to classroom duties, the role will include supporting pupils in the lunch hall and supervising children during playground times, helping to ensure a safe and positive experience for all.
The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in the wellbeing of children and demonstrate a caring, patient and nurturing approach. They should be proactive, flexible and committed to supporting young learners at this important stage of their school journey.
You will be required to register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) for Day Care of Children within 3 months of commencing employment and responsible for maintaining annual membership.
