Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the team are working in line with any HSE policies and procedures.
- Always deliver a food safe and high-quality product to customers.
- Follow strategies to ensure achievement of the Engineering objectives.
- Drive effective engineering performance and reduce lost time and the effects on production.
- Provide professional leadership, support, and development to staff, to increase knowledge, share best practice and ensure professional standards are met.
- Promote inspirational leadership by displaying high personal standards that cascade through the team.
- Understand and deliver departmental budgets to forecast.
- Ensure effective root cause analysis to minimise negative trends in engineering performance.
- Promote the lean manufacturing journey, ensuring continuous improvement actions are being identified and actioned throughout the meeting processes.
- Complete annual development plans and objectives for all team members and identify personal development plans for all.
- Provide clear and concise communications which can be cascade through to all levels of the department.
- Follow and uphold the company policies, procedures, and activities in place necessary to maintain the safety, quality, authenticity, and legality of the finished products manufactured and distributed for sale.
Knowledge, Competence, Experience and Qualifications Required
- An experienced Engineering professional with the ability to apply strong, leadership skills to promote and deliver Engineering targets and objectives. You will have knowledge and experience in: Lean Manufacturing and Leadership Development.
- Will have a track record of being a team builder and partnering with a senior management team to implement improvements that result in improved production performance and results.
- Strong communication, planning and problem-solving skills and team working skills.
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to engage and motivate teams.
- Ability to deal with conflict within the team.
- Challenge the norm and identify alternative ways of working.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and ethical awareness.
- Customer service, food safety and quality are high on the agenda.
- You will have spent a considerable proportion of your career in a manufacturing / FMCG environment and operated at Senior Engineering Shift Manager level or above.
- High knowledge and understanding of food safety requirements.
- Require a good understanding of Lean Manufacturing and can drive changes through a continuous improvement in culture.
