Futures Matter CIC is recruiting Supervised Contact Workers to support children and families across Leeds, Bradford and surrounding areas.
The role involves supervising and supporting contact between children and parents or other family members where an independent professional is required. Your responsibility is to help ensure sessions remain safe, child-focused and appropriately managed, while maintaining a neutral and professional approach with everyone involved.
You will observe interactions during contact, respond appropriately to any difficulties or safeguarding concerns, and complete clear, factual and detailed written reports following each session. Contact may take place in community centres, family venues or other agreed locations.
We are particularly interested in applicants with experience in children's services, family support, education, youth work, social care or other roles involving direct work with children and families.
Excellent interpersonal skills and a high standard of spoken and written English are essential, as workers communicate directly with parents and professionals and produce reports that may be shared with local authorities, solicitors or the courts.
This is flexible, sessional work with a current particular need for workers available during weekday afternoons, approximately 3:00pm–6:00pm. Applicants must be able to drive, have access to a vehicle and hold a current Enhanced DBS.
Skills
- Experience working with children in a supervised or caregiving capacity is essential.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with children, families, and colleagues.
- Excellent observation skills to monitor behavior and identify any concerns promptly.
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional in potentially challenging situations.
- Good organizational skills for maintaining detailed records and managing schedules effectively.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and child protection policies is highly desirable.
Pay: £25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 2.0 – 10.0 per week
