Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Domestic & Laundry Assistant to join our team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards across our Home, ensuring a comfortable and safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors. Your attention to detail and proactive approach will help uphold the highest levels of cleanliness, sanitation, and laundry management. Duties
- Perform comprehensive cleaning tasks throughout the Home, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and disinfecting surfaces to maintain a hygienic environment. This includes all bedrooms, communal areas, corridors and offices.
- Manage laundry operations efficiently, including sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing linens and clothing.
- Ensure all laundry equipment is operated safely and maintained properly for optimal performance.
- Follow strict health and safety protocols during cleaning and laundry procedures to prevent contamination or accidents.
- Restock supplies such as cleaning products, linens, and toiletries as needed to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Assist with waste disposal in accordance with environmental guidelines and Home policies.
- Collaborate with team members to prioritise tasks and ensure all areas are cleaned to the highest standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience in cleaning within healthcare or hospital settings.
- Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, sanitation standards, and laundry processes.
- Ability to operate cleaning machinery and laundry equipment safely and effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail with a proactive approach to maintaining cleanliness standards.
- Good physical stamina for standing, bending, lifting, and performing repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations related to cleaning products and laundry procedures.
- Good understanding of the importance of maintaining accurate records and the ability to do so using various formats.
- Prior experience working in care environments is essential.
- Complete all mandatory training, and any additional training relevant to the role, within specified timeframes in accordance with current guidelines and legislation.

Pay: From £12.71 per hour
