About Us
Signature Stationery Ltd is the company behind The Online Pen Company, one of the UK’s leading online retailers of premium pens, stationery and accessories. We sell through our own website and Amazon, supplying customers across the UK and internationally.
We’re a growing ecommerce business with exciting plans for the future, and we’re looking for an enthusiastic Ecommerce Assistant to join our team.
This is a great opportunity to join a small business at an early stage, where you’ll get involved in many different areas rather than being limited to one specific task.
The Role
This is a varied, hands-on role combining customer service and general office duties with picking, packing and light stock room work.
You’ll work closely with our Operations Manager, who currently oversees the day-to-day ecommerce operation. As the business grows, we’re looking for someone dependable who can help across all areas and is happy to turn their hand to whatever needs doing.
The stock room work is light – we’re dealing with pens, stationery and accessories rather than heavy warehouse goods.
Sundays are worked independently, which allows us to provide customers with a six-day dispatch service. Full training will be provided before you’re expected to work alone, and from Monday to Thursday you’ll work alongside our Operations Manager.
Your Responsibilities
- Picking, packing and dispatching customer orders
- Personalising pens using our engraving equipment – full training provided
- Gift wrapping customer orders
- Answering customer enquiries by email and telephone
- Receiving incoming stock and putting purchase orders away
- Carrying out stock takes
- Keeping the stock room organised, tidy and efficient
- Helping with general day-to-day tasks as they arise
- Getting involved wherever needed in a small and growing business
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
- Is reliable, organised and punctual
- Has excellent attention to detail
- Takes pride in doing a job properly
- Is comfortable speaking to customers by telephone and email
- Is confident using computers and happy to learn new systems
- Is happy to combine office work with light stock room duties
- Can work independently and use their own initiative
- Has a positive, hands-on attitude
- Is happy working as part of a very small team and getting involved in different areas of the business
Previous ecommerce, retail, warehouse or customer service experience would be useful, but is not essential. We’re more interested in finding someone reliable with the right attitude, and full training will be provided.
What We Offer
- £12.71 per hour
- 1 hour fully paid lunch break every working day
- 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays
- Staff discount across our range of pens, stationery and accessories
- Full-time Sunday to Thursday working pattern
- Part-time 9:00am–3:00pm hours also considered
- Occasional paid Friday overtime when available
- Full training, including engraving and gift wrapping
- A varied role where you’ll gain experience across different areas of ecommerce
- The opportunity to join a growing business at an early stage and develop with us
If you’re looking for a varied role where you can become an important part of a small team and help a growing ecommerce business develop, we’d love to hear from you.
We are also open to part-time applicants looking to work between 9:00am and 3:00pm, which may suit someone looking for hours around school or nursery. Occasional paid Friday overtime may also be available.
