Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Care Assistant to join our team over 2 sites. In this vital role, you will provide high-quality care and support to our residents in a care home setting. You will be responsible for assisting with daily living activities, ensuring the comfort and well-being of our residents, and helping to create a warm and welcoming environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in a Senior role with administering of safe handling of medication, possess strong leadership skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, communicate effectively, support and a genuine passion for senior care.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Support residents in daily activities and encourage their independence.
- Administer medication as prescribed
- Develop and maintain individual care plans in collaboration with the care team.
- Supervise and support staff members and provide guidance as needed.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure optimal care delivery.
- Maintain accurate records of residents' progress and any changes in their condition.
- Ensure the care home environment is safe, clean, and conducive to the well-being of all residents.
Experience
- Previous experience in a senior care or healthcare setting is essential.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience supervising staff preferred.
- Experience of safe administrating and handling of medication.
- Familiarity with IT systems used for managing care plans and resident documentation is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills are necessary for interacting with residents, families, colleagues, and any relevant professionals effectively.
- A compassionate approach to caring for seniors is crucial for success in this role.
