Do you want to volunteer internationally online, develop valuable skills, and connect with young people across countries while supporting vulnerable communities? We are offering places for young people aged 18–25 to take part in the Youth Connect Virtual Mobility Programme with the British Red Cross. The programme will run from June 2026 to August 2026. This virtual volunteering opportunity brings together young people from different countries to learn, collaborate online, share experiences, and engage in meaningful social action. Volunteers will learn about a wide range of topics around Humanitarianism as well as gaining insight into the work of the British Red Cross while developing intercultural and professional skills. This is a great opportunity to get involved in social action, explore your interests, and build connections across borders. The main thing we are looking for is your motivation and willingness to engage. What you will be doing Taking part in 5 online workshops, training sessions, and group activities with other international volunteers Contributing to social action projects linked to British Red Cross priorities (e.g. community wellbeing, youth engagement, and awareness campaigns) Collaborating in multicultural teams to design and deliver small-scale initiatives Reflecting on your learning and sharing experiences with peers Supporting the development of youth-led ideas and campaigns The skills you need Good communication skills (especially in an online environment) Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a virtual team Willingness to show commitment, motivation, and initiative Openness to new experiences and working with people from different cultural backgrounds Adaptability and flexibility Interest in social action and supporting vulnerable people and communities Basic digital skills (e.g. using video calls, shared documents, online platforms) What’s in it for you Connect with young people from different countries and cultures Develop key skills such as teamwork, communication, and intercultural understanding Gain experience in remote collaboration and digital project work Increase your confidence and broaden your perspectives Take part in training and personal development opportunities Be part of the world’s largest humanitarian network Make a positive difference through youth-led social action Receive recognition for your participation (certificate/learning outcomes) Additional Information This is a virtual opportunity, so participation will take place online. Why we want you: The International Youth Volunteering Programme (IYVP) can offer young people aged 18-25 to take part in a full-time, structured, and supported volunteer international programme. All our placements are fully funded, with travel, accommodation, visas and health insurance costs covered, and volunteers receive a small monthly allowance to cover additional expenses. This is the perfect opportunity for those interested in gaining valuable skills, having new experiences, and giving back to the community. The personal and professional skills developed on these placements (independence, resilience, working with vulnerable people, etc), as well as the opportunity to live in a new country and create connections with people from different walks of life are extremely beneficial for any young person looking to start a career in this sector or similar. We are keen to hear from individuals, especially those who do not normally get the chance to volunteer overseas, who are passionate and motivated for this kind of work, but who also understand that these types of placements require adaptability and resilience.
