Are you a qualified Early Years Teacher who loves working with children aged 3–5 and is ready to take the next step into a leadership role?
We are looking for an experienced QTS or EYTS Preschool Room Leader to lead one of our preschool teams.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you can lead practice, support your team and help shape an inspiring curriculum, while continuing to spend your day working directly with children.
No previous Montessori experience is required – training and support are provided.
Pay
£15.17 per hour
This is made up of:
QTS / EYTS practitioner rate: £14.05 per hour
Room Leader allowance: +£1.12 per hour
Work more than 6 hours? Your 30-minute lunch break is paid, and a freshly prepared lunch is provided.

About Our Preschool
Our preschool supports children aged 3–5 years through a rich curriculum combining the EYFS with Montessori-inspired practice.
We see children as capable and curious learners. Our approach encourages independence, confidence, communication, creativity, problem-solving and a genuine love of learning.
Our curriculum is also influenced by Reggio Emilia, valuing children's interests, collaborative projects, creativity, relationships and learning within the wider community.
As Preschool Room Leader, you will be encouraged to bring your own professional knowledge, experience and ideas while ensuring consistently high-quality practice across the room.
Your Role
You will:
- Lead the day-to-day organisation of the preschool room
- Lead high-quality teaching and learning
- Support, guide and develop practitioners within your team
- Be a positive professional role model
- Ensure the EYFS is implemented effectively
- Support children's individual learning, development and wellbeing
- Create an engaging, purposeful and well-prepared learning environment
- Support children's readiness for their next stage of learning while recognising the importance of play and child-led learning
- Build positive partnerships with parents and carers
- Work with the SENCo to support children with additional needs
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding, supervision and welfare
- Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement across the nursery
What We're Looking For
You will need:
- QTS or EYTS
- Strong and consistent experience working with preschool/Early Years children
- A secure understanding of the EYFS
- Experience of leading, mentoring or supporting other practitioners
- Confidence in developing high-quality Early Years provision
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- A warm, professional and child-centred approach
- A strong commitment to safeguarding children
- Enthusiasm for developing both your own practice and that of your team
