Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery Manager to oversee the daily operations of our childcare facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children, while leading a team of staff members. This role requires strong management and leadership skills, along with a passion for early childhood education and childcare. The Nursery Manager will play a vital role in fostering positive relationships with children, parents, and staff to promote the overall success of the nursery.
Duties
- Manage the day-to-day running of the nursery, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards
- Lead, motivate, and support a team of childcare professionals and support staff
- Develop and implement engaging educational programmes tailored to children's developmental needs
- Oversee staff recruitment, training, and performance evaluations
- Maintain effective communication with parents regarding their child's progress and wellbeing
- Ensure health and safety policies are strictly adhered to within the nursery environment
- Organise activities that promote social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development
- Manage administrative tasks including record keeping, budgeting, and resource planning
- Foster a positive team culture centred on professional growth and excellent childcare standards
Requirements
- Proven management experience within a nursery or early childhood education setting
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide staff effectively
- Experience working directly with children in childcare or nursery environments
- Knowledge of child development principles and early childhood education practices
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Ability to build strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
- Valid driving licence is desirable for transportation purposes if required by the role
- Level 3 qualified or above essential.
