The Role
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Shift Engineer to join our hotel maintenance team. This role is ideal for someone with a hands-on approach, strong problem-solving skills, and a passion for maintaining high standards across a busy hospitality environment.
You’ll be responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of all hotel facilities, supporting both planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out maintenance, repairs, and fault-finding across the hotel
- Ensure all plant, equipment, and systems are operating efficiently
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guest rooms and public areas
- Support planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules
- Maintain compliance with health & safety regulations and hotel standards
- Assist with contractor supervision where required
- Ensure accurate record-keeping of maintenance activities
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in a maintenance, engineering, or facilities role (hotel experience desirable but not essential)
- A multi-skilled background (electrical, plumbing, decorating, HVAC, or general maintenance)
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented approach
- Flexible and willing to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- A proactive and customer-focused mindset
