Overview
An Assistant Manager at this Venue is a hands-on leadership role in a busy, lively riverside pub and live-music venue. The Venue is known for its live cover bands on Friday and Saturday nights, with the venue staying open late at weekends.
The Assistant Manager would support the General Manager with the day-to-day running of the pub, while taking responsibility for the team and smooth operation of the venue during busy services.
Key responsibilities would include:
- Leading and supporting the bar and front-of-house team during busy shifts.
- Making sure customers receive friendly, efficient service.
- Managing busy Friday and Saturday evenings when live bands and late-night music bring a high volume of customers.
- Supervising staff rotas, breaks and performance.
- Ensuring the bar is fully stocked and ready for service.
- Handling customer queries, complaints and difficult situations professionally.
- Monitoring cash handling, tills and end-of-shift procedures.
- Working closely with musicians, entertainment and other staff to ensure the evening runs smoothly.
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, presentation, food and drink service.
- Supporting licensing, health and safety and responsible alcohol-service procedures.
- Helping create a lively but safe atmosphere for customers.
- Taking charge of the pub when the General Manager is not present.
- Completing opening and closing duties and ensuring the premises are secure.

Pay: £11.50-£14.00 per hour
Expected hours: 4.0 – 40.0 per week
