Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a flair for creating exceptional dishes. This role involves overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation are maintained at all times. The Head Chef will be responsible for managing kitchen staff, developing menus, and maintaining a smooth workflow within a busy hospitality environment.
Duties
- Supervise and manage the daily operations of the kitchen team, including chefs, cooks, and kitchen assistants.
- Oversee food production, ensuring all dishes meet quality standards and are prepared in accordance with recipes and presentation guidelines.
- Lead food preparation and cooking activities, maintaining consistency and excellence in every dish served.
- Develop innovative menus that reflect current culinary trends whilst catering to customer preferences.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of hygiene throughout the kitchen.
- Manage stock levels, order supplies, and control inventory to minimise waste while ensuring availability of ingredients.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff to enhance their skills and promote a cohesive team environment.
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Monitor kitchen operations to optimise efficiency and minimise costs without compromising quality.
Experience
- Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen environment, ideally in a restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in food production, cooking techniques, and food safety standards.
- Demonstrable team management skills with the ability to lead and motivate staff effectively.
- Experience in menu development, food presentation, and maintaining high standards of hospitality service.
- Knowledge of current culinary trends and best practices in the industry.
- Previous experience working in a busy restaurant or similar hospitality establishment is highly desirable.

Pay: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
