Afon Veterinary Centre is looking to recruit a friendly, organised and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to join our reception team, providing cover across our Neath and local branches.
As the first point of contact for our clients and their pets, you’ll play a vital role in delivering outstanding customer service while supporting our clinical teams. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a busy environment, has excellent communication skills and has a genuine passion for animal care.
Main Duties
· Welcome clients and their pets in a warm, friendly and professional manner.
· Answer telephone calls and respond to client enquiries efficiently.
· Book, amend and manage appointments using the practice management system.
· Check patients in and out of appointments, ensuring all client and patient information is accurate.
· Process payments and balance transactions.
· Support the veterinary team with administrative tasks as required.
· Maintain a clean, tidy and welcoming reception area.
· Handle client concerns professionally, calmly and empathetically.
· Carry out general reception and administrative duties to support the smooth running of the practice.
· Animal handling in branches.
Hours
· 25 hours per week
· Monday to Friday
· Flexibility to work shifts between 8am-7pm
· Based across our Neath and local branches
· Additional cover may occasionally be required to support the wider reception team.
What We’re Looking For
· Previous receptionist or customer service experience is essential.
· Veterinary experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
· Outstanding customer service with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
· Good IT and keyboard skills.
· Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
· Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
· A positive, reliable and flexible approach to work.
· A genuine passion for providing exceptional care to both clients and their pets.
