Job Description: Parts Supervisor
GRM Bodycraft Limited is one of Scotland’s leading vehicle accident repair groups, with the Edinburgh site located in Telferton Industrial Estate. Our passion and expertise allow us to repair all makes and models of vehicles for all major insurance companies and work providers.
The Parts Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing the parts department within an automotive service environment. This position is responsible for managing inventory, ensuring the availability of parts, and providing exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in automotive repair and service, along with excellent logistical and organisational skills to effectively manage the supply chain.
Duties
- Manage inventory levels, including ordering, receiving, and stocking parts to meet demand.
- Oversee shipping and receiving processes to ensure timely delivery of parts.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions using our internal systems.
- Collaborate with the bodyshop to ensure timely availability of parts for repairs.
- Provide technical support and mechanical knowledge to staff and customers regarding parts selection and usage.
- Develop strategies to improve efficiency within the parts department and enhance customer satisfaction.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of automotive repair and service processes.
- Proficiency in logistics management and supply chain operations.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on building relationships.
- Experience in shipping and receiving procedures.
- Mechanical knowledge relevant to equipment repair and maintenance.
- Ability to negotiate effectively with vendors and suppliers.
